Assistant systems
The button for the driver assistance systems is
located on the multifunction steering wheel.
This button can be used to switch the driver
assistance systems in the Assistants menu on
and o.

Press the button to open the Assistants
menu.

Select the assistance system in question and
turn it o or on. A mark indicates that assistant
system is switched on.

Next, conrm the selection by pressing
the button on the multifunction steering
wheel.
The assistant systems can also be switched on
and o in the infotainment system, in the vehi-
cle settings menu ›››page40.

Front radar

The vehicle may be tted with radar sensors on
the front bumper ›››Fig.123.
The front radar detects any objects in its de-
tection zone ›››Fig.124 and provides support
for the following functions:

Front Assist ›››page210.
●
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) ›››page203.
The radar can have a range of up to 120m
(400ft) depending on road and weather con-
ditions.
Side radars ›››Fig.123 detect objects in their
detection zone in order to prevent the vehicle
from colliding with crossing vehicles when en-
tering an intersection or junction. These radars
provide support to the:

Junction assist function ›››page212.
WARNING
●
The visibility of the radar sensors can be
impaired by dirt or environmental inuences
such as rain, fog, snow, mud, dust, insects
etc. In this case the Front Assist,ACC and
junction assist functions may stop working.
The instrument panel displays the following
message: “No sensor visibility!” and the Front
Assist unavailable or ACC unavailable warn-
ing lights come on.

Clean the sensor area on the bumper as
indicated in ›››page392, Cleaning the
exterior. When the radar sensor starts cor-
rectly detecting again, the message disap-
pears from the screen and the functions be-
come available again.
