144 - Getting to know your vehicle
Please ensure that you comply with

It is important to remember that failure
to respect regulations in force could
lead to legal action being taken against
the vehicle owner.
Operating principle
ThereagentisintendedforDieselen
gines fitted with the SCR (selective
catalytic reduction) system.
Using a reagent reduces the quantity
of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases.
Reagentconsumptioninrealtimede
pends on vehicle usage conditions, the
equipment fitted, and driving style.
Reagent quality
Use only reagents which comply
with the ISO22241standardandin
accordance with the mark on the tank
filler cap.
To fill up with reagent, the
engine must be stopped
(not just on standby in the
case of vehicles with the Stop and
Start function). You must switch
off the ignition 🡺149, 🡺151.
If the "XXX miles (XXX
km) LOCKOUT REFILL
ADBLUE"messageap
pears, fill the reagent
tankandrefertothefillinginstruc
tions.

Topping up
Useable capacity of the tank:
14 litres approximately.
With the ignition switched off, open the
flap

then unscrew the cap

Note: ammonium hydroxide vapour
may escape from the cap opening
when the tank temperature is high.
The tank can be filled at the pump.
With the ignition off, insert the nozzle
and insert it fully before turning it on to
fill the fuel tank (risk of splashing).
Keep the nozzle in this position
throughout the entire filling operation.
When the pump cuts out automatically
at the end of the filling procedure, a
maximum of two further filling attempts
maybemade,astheremustbesuffi
cient space in the fuel tank to allow for
expansion.
In other filling cases, it is essential to
read the information shown on the
reagentcontainer(e.g.thecanorbot
tle).
Fuel filler cap: this is a
specific type.
If you have to replace it,
make sure it is identical
totheoriginalcap.Contactanap
proved Dealer. Do not wash the
filler area with a high pressure
washer.
