3.3 INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT, GEARBOX OUTPUT SHAFT BEARING
AXIAL PLAY
1. Remove the rear gearbox bearing cover.
2. Install a new gasket on the bearing cover.
Use a depth gauge to determine the depth
of the bearing cover recess, distance A.

3. Use a depth gauge to determine the height
the ball bearing protrudes above the
gearbox housing, distance B.
4. Calculate the axial play.
The axial play equals distance A - distance
B.
5. Compare the calculated value with the
maximum allowable axial play. See
“Technical data”.
6. If necessary, adjust the axial play by means
of another adjusting ring.
