The Dash AirCrisp® Pro Digital Air Fryer is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for air frying a variety of foods with ease and precision. It utilizes hot air circulation to cook food, aiming for crispy results with little to no added oil. The appliance features a sleek stainless steel design with a digital display and a user-friendly power button/dial for controlling settings.
The AirCrisp® Pro Digital Air Fryer is primarily used for air frying, which involves circulating hot air around food to cook it evenly and achieve a crispy texture, similar to deep frying but with significantly less oil. This makes it a healthier alternative for preparing many popular dishes. The appliance is capable of cooking a wide range of foods, from fresh and frozen fries, chicken wings, and fish sticks to more elaborate recipes like buffalo cauliflower, mac 'n cheese balls, onion rings, easy donuts, buttermilk fried chicken, baja fish tacos, crab cakes, fried shrimp, and cinnamon rolls.
The Air Fryer is designed for straightforward operation. Before first use or after prolonged storage, it's recommended to remove all packaging materials, check for any visible damage, and thoroughly clean the appliance and its accessories. Preheating the air fryer before adding food is suggested for faster cooking.
To operate, the user first places the appliance on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface and plugs it in. The Air Fryer will beep, and the digital display will show three dashes, indicating it has power but is not yet turned on. The Crisper Drawer is then removed, and food is placed into the Crisper Basket. There's no need to add oil, as the appliance works with hot air, though a small amount of oil can be tossed with foods for crispier results. The Crisper Drawer is then slid back into the Air Fryer.
The digital display illuminates with a default temperature of 370°F and a default time of 15 minutes. Users can either select a preset function or manually adjust the time and temperature. To use preset functions, the user presses the Function Selection button on the digital display repeatedly until the desired function icon illuminates, then presses the Power Button/Dial to start air frying. For manual settings, the user presses the Temperature button to set the temperature using the Power Button/Dial, then presses the Time button to set the timer, and finally presses the Power Button/Dial to begin.
For even cooking, some foods require shaking halfway through the preparation time. This is done by simply removing the Crisper Drawer, which automatically shuts off the Air Fryer. The contents are gently shaken, and then the drawer is re-inserted, at which point the Air Fryer resumes cooking with the previously selected settings. It's important not to press the Crisper Basket Release Button while shaking to avoid detaching the basket.
When cooking is complete, the Air Fryer will beep, and the Heating Indicator Light will remain illuminated, indicating it still has power. To remove food, the Crisper Drawer is placed on a heat-resistant surface. The Crisper Basket Release Button is pressed, and the Crisper Basket is lifted out of the Crisper Drawer. It's crucial not to turn over the Crisper Drawer directly, as collected oil may spill onto the food. Food can then be emptied into a bowl or onto a plate. For large or fragile items, tongs are recommended. Any excess oil from foods will collect at the bottom of the Crisper Drawer and should be disposed of after the appliance cools.
The Air Fryer also features a safety mechanism where it will continue to cook for 20 seconds after the Power Button/Dial is pressed to turn it off, which is normal.
Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential for the longevity and optimal performance of the Dash AirCrisp® Pro Digital Air Fryer. Before cleaning, the appliance must be unplugged and allowed to cool down completely. Removing the Crisper Drawer helps the Air Fryer cool quicker.
The appliance should be cleaned after every use. It's important not to use metal kitchen utensils or abrasive cleaning materials on the Crisper Basket, Crisper Drawer, or the inside of the appliance, as these can damage the non-stick coating. The outside of the appliance can be wiped with a moist cloth.
For the Crisper Basket and Crisper Drawer, hot water, dish soap, and a non-abrasive sponge are recommended for cleaning. If these parts are particularly dirty or have stuck-on food, they can be removed from the Air Fryer, filled with hot water and dish soap, and then the Crisper Basket can be placed inside the Crisper Drawer to soak for about 10 minutes to loosen any food residue.
The inside of the appliance should be cleaned with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge. The heating element can be cleaned with a soft cleaning brush to remove food residue, but a metal brush should not be used as it may damage the coating. It's crucial to ensure the appliance has cooled down completely before cleaning the heating element.
Finally, before storage, all parts of the appliance must be clean and dry, and the appliance should be unplugged. This ensures the appliance is ready for its next use and helps maintain its condition over time.
