The dap4 control panel monitors the air filters status. A dirty filter alarm will be enunciated on the
controls display screen and available as a Building Management System (BMS) data port. Although the
unit may display a dirty filter alarm, this should not be relied on as the only determinant for replacing air
filters. A misadjusted air filter differential pressure switch may not give a proper indication of a clogged
filter.
To check the air filter pressure differential pressure switch for proper adjustment, temporarily cover
approximately 75% of the return air opening using heavy cardboard or similar material. The alarm
should energize when 75% of the air is blocked, simulating dirty filters. If the alarm energizes
prematurely or does not energize at all, the pressure switch should be adjusted. All side panels must
remain closed when determining if an adjustment is necessary.
In general on Data Aire gForce floor units, the filters are removable from the front of the unit unless
otherwise specified.
NOTE: Replace the air filters with same filter size and type. Any new
filters manufacturer must be U.L. and CSA approved (Classified).
WARNING: Air filters that require changing can restrict airflow and create
problems such as coil icing or poor air distribution.
Downflow Unit Filter Replacement Procedure
• Turn OFF the disconnect switch to all remote electric facility power to the unit with the
external disconnect.
• If a return duct is not installed, use an OSHA approved stepladder or ladder, to remove
filters from the top of the unit. If a return air duct is installed, the filters can be removed by
opening the access door(s) and lifting the filters out through the doors.
• Replace with new filters of equal size and type.
• Install the filters in with the proper direction of the airflow.
• Test the operation of the filter differential pressure switch. The unit door(s) must be in place
and closed for proper differential pressure setpoint.
• Turn ON the electrical facility power to the unit. After the controller completes the self-
checks, the fan or blowers will start.
• Temporarily cover approximately 75% of the return air opening using heavy cardboard or
similar material to adjust the filter differential switch.
• Adjust the switch setpoint, if necessary.
