low color brilliance with Relative Colorimetric is problematic.
Absolute Colorimetric Intent: This is a special intent for proofing purposes, where
the off white paper of the final printing device needs to be emulated on the whiter
paper of the proofing device. Unless you are emulating newsprint output on your
desktop printer, you probably will never need this intent.
Selecting Intents Printing from Photoshop and Elements
This illustration shows the color management options from the Print with Preview
screen in Photoshop CS2. Note that the rendering intent can be selected by the user at
the time of printing. Please note that using the Relative Colorimetric Intent in
conjunction with Photoshop’s Black Point Compensation checkbox can result is weaker
blacks than disabling Black Point Compensation.
