and choose sRGB or AdobeRGB on opening your camera images as appropriate for
your camera. Most cameras which do not have a RAW format option are optimized for
sRGB, so that choice would be selected when opening images.
For Photoshop CS2 and earlier versions, choose AdobeRGB or sRGB as appropriate for
your camera as your RGB color space in Color Settings.
Advanced Topic: Processing RAW Files
Raw files contain High Bit data, which means there are extra bits between those that
you can see on screen, allowing a wide range of adjustments to be made to the file on
import without losing visible quality on screen. RAW files from most cameras offering a
RAW format can be opened into either Elements or Photoshop using the included
Adobe CameraRAW converter. It allows you to adjust a wide range of settings, with a
real time preview of the image. Since this preview uses your custom monitor profile,
you can make visual choices about image adjustments by seeing the results of your
adjustments on screen as you make them.
