The DY907 Electronic Water Timer is a device designed for outdoor, residential watering applications, offering a user-friendly experience with no programming required. It features a multi-function pre-set watering selection system, including an on/off option, and a digital LCD for time display. The timer utilizes a reliable diaphragm design, contributing to a long battery life, and requires two AA batteries (not included) for operation.
Function Description:
The primary function of the DY907 timer is to automate watering schedules. Users can set the current time using "+" and "-" buttons, with adjustments in 10-minute increments. Holding both buttons for more than 3 seconds allows switching between 12-hour and 24-hour time systems. The "RUN TIME" button offers sixteen different watering duration settings, ranging from 1 minute to 180 minutes (00:01 to 03:00).
The device incorporates a twist button with twelve distinct mode options. When the twist button is turned to a new position, any currently active program or valve operation will automatically turn off, and the timer will be ready for the newly selected position.
Usage Features:
The twelve available modes for the twist button provide a variety of watering schedules:
- OFF: The valve is turned off.
- ON: The valve is turned on, and users can select from the sixteen different watering durations. This applies to subsequent options as well.
- Daily at 6:00 AM: The valve turns on automatically every day at 6:00 AM.
- Daily at 6:00 PM: The valve turns on automatically every day at 6:00 PM.
- Daily at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM: The valve turns on automatically twice a day.
- Every Other Day at 6:00 AM: The valve turns on automatically every second day at 6:00 AM.
- Every Other Day at 6:00 PM: The valve turns on automatically every second day at 6:00 PM.
- Every Third Day at 6:00 AM: The valve turns on automatically every third day at 6:00 AM.
- Every Third Day at 6:00 PM: The valve turns on automatically every third day at 6:00 PM.
- Every Other Week at 6:00 AM: The valve turns on automatically every second week at 6:00 AM.
- Every Other Week at 9:00 AM: The valve turns on automatically every second week at 9:00 AM.
- Every Other Week at 6:00 PM: The valve turns on automatically every second week at 6:00 PM.
When an option is selected, the "RUN TIME" statistics (e.g., 00:01) and other relevant statistics will flash. When the timer stops working, the flashing will cease. The "RUN TIME" option and the twist button are independent of any specific sequence, with the final chosen position determining the active setting.
Important Safety Information and Maintenance Features:
- Intended Use: This timer is strictly for outdoor, residential watering applications. It is not suitable for indoor or commercial use.
- Hose Compatibility: Only fabric-reinforced hoses should be used. Damaged or cracked hoses must be avoided.
- Temperature Sensitivity: The timer must be removed from the faucet during freezing weather (below 0°C/32°F) and stored indoors to prevent damage.
- Water Exposure: Do not submerge the timer in water, use it in damp pits, or bury it.
- Connections: Regularly check connections to ensure a tight seal.
- Initial Use: When using for the first time, monitor its operation for one week to ensure proper functioning.
- Battery Management:
- Before extended absences, insert new batteries and test the program.
- When storing, turn the timer to the "OFF" position. Ensure the unit is completely empty of water and stored in a frost-free environment. Remove the batteries.
- Use only two AA alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
- Avoid mixing old and new batteries, or different types (alkaline, carbon-zinc, nickel-cadmium).
- Install new batteries at the start of each watering season.
- Before every battery change, turn off the water supply at the outdoor faucet and remove the timer. Clean metal contacts with a clean cloth when replacing batteries. A black cloth belt under the batteries facilitates easy removal.
- Orientation: Use the timer only in the proper orientation; avoid sideways, upside-down, or other incorrect positions.
- Internal Components: The timer housing contains no user-serviceable parts. Opening the housing will void the warranty and may cause leakage.
- Static Electricity: The timer contains internal electronic components susceptible to static electricity. If the timer malfunctions, it may be due to static exposure. Reset the timer by removing and re-installing the batteries.
- Water Pressure/Temperature: Do not use with water exceeding 100°F (38°C) or with pressures exceeding 100psi (6.9bars). For pressures above 100psi, consult a local plumber for pressure regulation. Avoid pulling or tugging on the hose to prevent damage.
- Low Battery Indicator: When the battery is low, a flashing battery icon will appear, and the valve will automatically turn off. The valve will only turn on again after new batteries are inserted.
- Error Display: If "ERR" is shown on the LCD, it indicates the timer is not in normal condition. Re-insert the batteries to reset the device.
