The Machete Fight series subwoofers, available in MF-12 D2/D4 and MF-15 D2/D4 models, are designed to deliver powerful bass performance for car audio systems. These subwoofers are manufactured by Deaf Bonce and Alphard Audio, known for their commitment to extreme sound levels.
Function Description
The Machete Fight subwoofers are passive audio components designed to reproduce low-frequency sounds (bass) in a car audio system. They require an external amplifier to operate. The subwoofers feature dual voice coils (D2 or D4) which offer flexibility in wiring configurations to achieve various impedance loads, allowing for optimal matching with a wide range of amplifiers. They are intended for use in bass reflex enclosures, with recommended parameters provided to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Usage Features
Wiring Diagrams:
The subwoofers feature dual voice coils, allowing for various wiring configurations to achieve different total impedances. This flexibility is crucial for matching the subwoofer to the amplifier's capabilities.
- Parallel Connection:
- Total impedance = 1 / (1/ΩSub 1 + 1/ΩSub 2 + 1/ΩSub 3...)
- Series Connection:
- Total impedance = ΩSub 1 + ΩSub 2 + ΩSub 3...
Detailed diagrams are provided for single, dual, triple, and quadruple subwoofer setups, showing both series and parallel connections for the voice coils within each subwoofer, as well as series and parallel connections between multiple subwoofers. This allows users to achieve target impedances ranging from 0.25 Ohm to 32 Ohm, depending on the number of subwoofers and their voice coil configurations (2+2 Ohm or 4+4 Ohm).
Cable Selection:
The manual includes a table for selecting the appropriate speaker cable diameter based on cable length and power consumption. This ensures minimal power loss and optimal performance. For example, for 8000W power consumption, a 5 AWG (16.8 mm²) cable is recommended for lengths up to 1 meter, while a 14 AWG (2.08 mm²) cable is suitable for 100W up to 8 meters.
Amplifier and Head Unit Settings:
Proper setup is critical for the subwoofer's longevity and performance.
- Amplifier Selection: Choose an amplifier with a nominal power below the subwoofer's nominal power.
- Head Unit (HU) Volume: Should not exceed 80%.
- Amplifier Sensitivity: Set to 50%.
- Subsonic Filter (Subsonic): Set to 5 Hz below the port tuning frequency. For example, if the port is tuned to 30 Hz, set Subsonic to 25 Hz.
- Low Pass Filter (LPF): Set between 63-80 Hz (cuts frequencies above this range).
- Bass Boost: Set to 0.
Safety Instructions:
- Always fasten the subwoofer properly in the vehicle to prevent serious damage or injury during driving.
- Store the product in its original packaging to avoid accidental damage if installing components.
- Do not drop the subwoofer or its moving parts.
- Ensure all audio devices are turned off before installation.
- Verify the installation location does not hinder the proper operation of mechanical and electrical devices.
- Avoid exposing components to water, excessive humidity, high or low temperature, dust, or dirt. The product operates best between +5 °C (41F) to +40 °C (104F).
- When performing plumbing, drilling, or cutting work, ensure no wiring, brake lines, fuel pipes, or other structural elements are damaged. Use protective glasses and gloves.
- Ensure speaker cables are not in contact with sharp edges or moving mechanical devices. Secure them firmly and protect them over the entire length.
- The diameter of speaker cables must be selected in accordance with the length and applied power.
- Never stretch cables outside the car or near moving parts of the car. This can lead to destruction of the insulating layer, short circuit, and fire.
- Use rubber gaskets if the wire passes through a hole in the plate or other similar materials to protect the parts exposed to heat.
- CAUTION: High sound pressure can damage your health! Always use common sense when controlling volume.
Maintenance Features

- Procedure: Warm up the subwoofer using musical material for 40 hours at medium power.
- Caution: Be extra careful during the warm-up process.
- Warning Sign: If a strange smell is noticed during operation at maximum volume, reduce the volume immediately and allow the device to cool down at a low volume.
Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (for European Countries with Separate Waste Collection):
- Products marked with a "crisscrossed wheeled bin" symbol should not be disposed of with regular household waste.
- These products must be disposed of in special reception centers equipped for recycling.
