The ES20s are only supported in a DD9500 system for as long as it takes Shelf
Migration software to allow them to be removed from the system.
ES30 SATA shelves must also be on their own sets. Minimize the ES30 set count by
combining up to five ES30s per set. If necessary, combine up to seven ES30 SAS
shelves per set to minimize the set count. A set can contain a maximum of four DS60s
and, if required because of other restrictions, add ES30 SAS shelves up to a maximum
of five total shelves in that set.
This process also applies to Extended Retention systems.
The racks are filled from the bottom to the top.
The cabling diagrams in this section show the maximum configurations for the
DD9500 and DD9800 systems. Not all systems will have all the disk shelves shown in
the diagrams.
DD9500 systems will not have the FS15 shelf.
