2. Remove the battery.
3. Remove the memory modules.
4. Remove the wireless card.
5. Remove the fan.
6. Remove the heat sink.
7. Remove the solid-state drive/Intel Optane.
Procedure
1. Remove the two screws (M2.5x5) that secure the left display hinge to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2. Lift the left display hinge to the maximum.
3. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
4. Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard from the system board.
5. Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard back-light cable from the system board.
6. Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.
7. Open the latch and disconnect the hard-drive cable from the system board.
8. Open the latch and disconnect the I/O-board cable from the system board.
9. Open the latch and disconnect the finger-print reader cable from the system board.
NOTE:
For computers shipped with finger-print reader only.
10. Open the latch and disconnect the power-button board cable from the system board.
11. Disconnect the power-adapter port cable from the system board.
12. Remove the screw (M2x4) that secures the system board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
13. Lift the system board off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
