Networking and PCIe
The Dell EMC PowerEdge R7425 oers balanced, scalable I/O capabilities, including integrated PCIe 3.0-capable expansion slots.
The Lan On Motherboard(LOM) option enable you to choose the right network fabric without using up a valuable PCI slot.
LAN on Motherboard(LOM)
The PowerEdge R7425 system supports up to four Network Interface Controller (NIC) ports that are integrated on the network
daughter card (NDC), and are available in the following congurations:
• Four RJ-45 ports that support 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps
• Four RJ-45 ports that support 100 M, 1 G and 10 Gbps
• Four RJ-45 ports, where two ports support maximum of 10 G and the other two ports maximum of 1 G
• Two RJ-45 ports that support up to 1 Gbps and 2 SFP+ ports that support up to 10 Gbps
• Four SFP+ ports that support up to 10 Gbps
• Two SFP28 ports that support up to 25 Gbps
NOTE: You can install up to eight PCIe add-on NIC cards.
PCIe Expansion cards
The Dell EMC PowerEdge R7425 system supports up to eight PCI express (PCIe) generation 3 expansion cards slots. The list below
shows the available PCIe slots for R7425:
1. Riser 1
• RSR 1A: Slot 1 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU1, and Slot 3 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU1
• RSR 1D: Slot 1 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU1, Slot 2 with PCIe Gen3 x8 lanes, and Slot 3 with PCIe Gen3 x8 lanes
• RSR 1E: Slot 1 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU1, and Slot 2 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes
2. Riser 2
• RSR 2A: Slot 4 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU2 and Slot 6 with PCIe Gen3 x8 lanes from CPU2
• RSR 2C: Slot 4 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU2
• RSR 2D: Slot 4 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU1 through cables, Slot 5 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU2, and Slot
6 with PCIe Gen3 x8 lanes from CPU2
• RSR 2E: Slot 4 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU2 and Slot 6 with PCIe Gen3 x8 lanes from CPU2
3. Riser 3
• RSR 3A: Slot 7 with PCIe Gen3 x8 lanes from CPU2 and Slot 8 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU2
• RSR 3B: Slot 7 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU2 through cables and Slot 8 with PCIe Gen3 x16 lanes from CPU2
