Removing the drive backplane
Prerequisites
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the drives and backplane, you must remove the drives from the system before
removing the backplane.
CAUTION: Note the number of each drive and temporarily label them before removal so that you can replace them in the
same drive slots.
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions on page 43.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system on page 44.
3. Remove all the drives from the front.
4. If applicable, remove the drive backplane cover.
NOTE: Observe the routing of the cable as you remove it from the system.
Steps
1. Press the blue release tabs to disengage the drive backplane from the hooks on the chassis.
2. Lift the drive backplane from the system.
