2 If you are removing the card permanently, install a metal ller bracket over the empty expansion slot opening and push the expansion
card latch.
NOTE: You must install a ller bracket over an empty expansion card slot to maintain Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) certication of the system. The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid in
proper cooling and airow inside the system.

Prerequisites
1 Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
2 If installing a new expansion card, unpack it and prepare the card for installation.
NOTE: For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card.
3 When installing a card into low prole, full height X1, or buttery riser, open the PCIe card holder latch.
Steps
1 Pull and lift up the expansion card retention latch lock to open
2 If installed, remove the ller bracket.

: Store the ller bracket for future use. Filler brackets must be installed in empty expansion card slots to maintain
