Figure 7: Pressing Array Inner Drawer Closed
2. Continue pressing the front panel until you hear and feel the drawer click into place.
3. When you think the array drawer is fully closed, gently pull on the sides of the front panel to make sure that
the drawer is secure within the enclosure.
Caution: The front panel is not a handle; do not use it to lift the array.
Removing the Array from the M1000e Chassis
You can completely remove the entire PS-M4110 storage blade array (array drawer and its housing) from the
M1000e enclosure when necessary. For example, to move equipment in your lab, to move the array to a different
M1000e enclosure, or to replace the entire array if it fails.
Each PS-M4110 blade array has two release latches. Only one release latch is engaged, depending on whether
the array enclosure is installed in an upper or lower slot in the enclosure:
The release button above the front panel is used to remove the array from the upper slots in the M1000e
enclosure. Shown in Figure 8.
The release button below the front panel is used to remove the array from the lower slots in the M1000e
enclosure. Shown in Figure 10.
Caution: Make sure the array drawer is fully closed within its housing so that it does not slide open while remov-
ing the blade array from the M1000e enclosure. The drawer is very heavy and can slide out quickly, unbalancing
the array and increasing the risk of dropping the array, of damaging the array, and injury to nearby people.
