Steps
1. Place the power button with optional fingerprint reader into its slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2. Align the screw hole on the power button with optional fingerprint reader with the screw hole on the palm-rest and keyboard
assembly.
3. Replace the screw (M2x3) that secures the power button with optional fingerprint reader to the palm-rest and keyboard
assembly.
4. Connect the fingerprint-reader cable to its connector on the I/O board and close the latch.
NOTE: Steps 4 to 6 are only applicable to systems shipped with a fingerprint reader.
5. Adhere the fingerprint-reader cable to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
6. Replace the Mylar over the fingerprint-reader cable.
Next steps
1. Install the power-button board.
2. Install the left fan.
3. Install the integrated heat sink or discrete heat sink.
NOTE:
If either the system board or the heat sink is replaced, use the thermal grease provided in the kit to ensure that
thermal conductivity is achieved.
4. Install the base cover.
5. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.
