Removing the hard drive

CAUTION: Hard drives are fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard
drive.
CAUTION: To avoid data loss, do not remove the hard drive while the
computer is in sleep or on state.
Prerequisites
1 Remove the battery.
2 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 3 in “Removing the optical drive”.
3 Remove the keyboard.
4 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 7 in “Removing the base cover”.
Procedure
1 Open the latch and disconnect the hard-drive cable from the system board.
2 Remove the four screws (M2x3) that secure the hard-drive assembly to the
palm-rest assembly.
