Installing the optical drive
1. Insert the optical drive into the slot on the computer.
2. Tighten the screws to secure the optical drive to the computer.
3. Install:
a. hard drive
b. battery
4. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.
Base cover
Removing the base cover
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the:
a. battery
b. hard drive
c. optical drive
3. To release the base cover:
a. Unlock the I/O latch door [1].
b. Lift the latch door to open it [3].
c. Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the computer [3].
4. To remove the base cover:
a. Remove the screws that secure the base cover [1].
b. Lift the base cover away from the computer [2].
