Removing the base cover
1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Remove the battery.
3. To remove the base cover:
a. Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer [1].
b. Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover and remove it from the computer [2].
Installing the base cover
1. Replace the base cover on the computer until it clicks in place.
2. Tighten the captive screws to secure the base cover to the computer.
3. Install the battery.
4. Follow the procedure in After Working Inside Your computer.
Removing the keyboard
1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Flip the computer and open the display to access the keyboard.
4. To remove the keyboard:
a. Using a plastic scribe, release the keyboard from the edges [1] and lift the keyboard from the
computer [2].
b. Release the latch and disconnect the keyboard cables from the connectors on the system board
[3, 4].
