Control panel
The control panel contains the power button, the diagnostic indicators, and the front USB ports.
Removing the control panel board
Prerequisites
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certied service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple
repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage
due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are
shipped with your product.
CAUTION: The display module connector is a ZIF (zero insertion force) connector. Ensure that the locking tab on the connector
is released before removal and insertion. The locking tab must be engaged after insertion.
NOTE: To prevent damage to the LCD display module cable, do not bend the control panel ex cable after it is inserted into the
connector.
1 Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2 Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
Steps
1 Disconnect the USB cable, control panel cable, and the LCD display module cable from the control panel board.
2 Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the two screws that secure the control panel board to the chassis.
3 Slide the control panel board toward the back and lift it out of the system.
