136 Adding and Replacing Parts
NOTE: If your computer has a gray cable, connect it to the connector with the gray
triangle, if one is available on your card.

Replace the Mini-Card/modem cover.
Hinge Cover
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the
safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist
grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a
connector on the back of the computer).
NOTICE: To avoid damaging the system board, you must remove the battery before
you begin working inside the computer.

Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 123.

Remove the hinge cover:
a
Open the display all the way (180 degrees) so that it lies flat against
your work surface.
NOTICE: To avoid damaging the hinge cover, do not lift the cover on both sides
simultaneously.
