5 - INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
5.2 - Adjusting Needle Speed
Use the Speed +/- buttons to increase or decrease the needle speed (respectively). A
single tone will be emitted for each valid button press.
The
Dermapen 4™
will emit a double tone to indicate the new speed value has been
accepted, and the selected speed will be displayed on the Speed Indication Arc.
The speed can be adjusted without a Cartridge connected to the
Dermapen 4™
.
*ST Setting
(Scar Setting-Speed 5) is automatically adjusted to a Speed of – 60htz –
60 revolutions per/second at a depth 3.0mm.
5.3 - Approved Depth Ranges & Depth Under Speed Guide
Medical Professional (Model Dermapen 4™ 4MD): 0.2 mm – 3 mm
Professional Aesthetical (Model Dermapen 4™ 4PRO): 0.2 mm – 1.0 mm
The Dermapen 4™ is capable of operating at di erent speed levels according to patient
comfort and practitioner preference. Most treatments are performed at Speeds’ 3 or 4.
Dermapen 4’s ST (Scar Treatment) is automatically calibrated at a speed of 60 Htz/sec.
For sensitive skin such as Rosacea; test at Speed 2 or 3 before proceeding to Speed 3 or 4.

80htz – 80 revolutions per/sec
Speed 3
105htz – 105 revolutions per/sec
Speed 2
90htz – 90 revolutions per/sec
Speed 4
120htz – 120 revolutions per/sec

Use the Depth +/- buttons to increase or decrease the needle depth (respectively). A
single tone will be emitted for each valid button press.
The Dermapen 4™ will emit a double tone to indicate the new depth value has been
accepted and the selected depth will be displayed on the Depth Indication Digits.
The depth can be adjusted without a Cartridge connected to the Dermapen 4™.
