Mowing Tips (Fig.A)
WARNING: ALWAYS INSPECT AREA WHERE

STICKS, WIRE, BONES, AND OTHER DEBRIS WHICH
MIGHT BE THROWN BY THE ROTATINGBLADE.
WARNING: Mow across the face of slopes, never
up‑and‑down. Exercise extreme caution when
Mower Overload
To prevent damage due to overload conditions, do not try to
remove too much grass at one time. Slow down your cutting
pace, or raise the cutheight.
Variable Speed Self Drive System (Fig.N)
DANGER: Sharp moving blade. Never attempt to
override the operation of the switch box, the self
drive system or the safety key system as serious
injury couldresult.
Your mower is equipped with variable speed self drive. This
system is dependent on the blade ONOFF switch. It can only
be used with the blade spinning.
1. Follow Starting Mowerinstructions.
2. To turn on self drive, hold blade bail handle

against the main handle

with onehand.
3. Pull the self drive speed lever

toward the main handle
with your otherhand.
4. You can hold just the speed lever or hold both bail
handle and speed leversimultaneously.
5. To turn off self drive, release the speed lever.
NOTE: When you turn off the self drive, for example at the
end of a row, the wheels may become temporarily locked
if you pull backwards on the mower. Simply push ahead
slightly and then move the mower asrequired.
NOTE: During cutting, at times it may be easier to maneuver
around an object , such as a tree or plants, with the self drive
off. The mower can easily be used with the self driveoff.
Variable Speed Ajustment Wheel (Fig. N)
Your mower is equipped with a variable speed adjustment
wheel

This system adjusts how quickly or slowly the self drive
system propells themower.
1. To increase the speed of the self drive system, rotate
the variable speed adjustment wheel in the direction
indicated by the arrow located next to the variable speed
adjustment wheel.
2. To decrease the speed of the self drive system, rotate
the variable speed adjustment wheel in the opposite
direction indicated by the arrow located next to the
variable speed adjustment wheel.
WARNING: Never attempt to lock a switch or bail
handle in the ONposition.
NOTE: Once the bail handle has returned to the original
position it will activate the “Automatic Braking Mechanism”.
The motor is braked and the mower blade will stop rotating
in three seconds orless. If mower blade rotates longer than
three seconds, discontinue using mower and have itserviced.
Starting Mower (Fig.K–N)

WARNING: Ensure self drive is disengaged before
starting the mower
NOTE: Mower is operational when battery packs and safety
key areinstalled.
1. Lift and hold the battery port cover

2. Slide a battery pack into the battery port until an
audible click is heard. Repeat this process for the second
batteryport.
NOTE: Ensure the battery packs are fully seated and fully
latched intoposition before startingmower.
3. Close the battery port cover. Ensure the cover is fully
closed before startingmower.
4. Insert safety key

into the ONOFF switch box

until it is fully seated inside housing. The mower is
nowoperational.
5. Your mower is equipped with a special ONOFF switch
box. To operate the mower, push and hold the ONOFF
button

on the ONOFF switch box, then pull the bail
handle

NOTE: Once the mower starts you can release
theONOFFbutton, but you must continue to hold the
bail handle to themain handle for the mower torun.
6. To turn the mower OFF, release the bailhandle.
Safety Key (Fig.L)
DANGER: Sharp moving blade. In order to prevent
accidental start‑up or unauthorized use of your
cordless mower, a removable safety key

has been
incorporated into the design of your mower. The mower
will be completely disabled when the safety key has
been removed from themower.
DANGER: Rotating blades can cause serious
injury. To prevent serious injury, turn unit off and
remove safety key and battery packs when unattended,
or when charging, cleaning, servicing, transporting,
lifting, or storingmower.
To Install the Battery Packs
1. Lift and hold the battery port cover

up to expose the
battery ports

2. Slide a battery pack into the battery port until an audible
click is heard. Repeat for the second battery
NOTE: Ensure the battery packs are fully seated and fully

3. Close the battery port cover. Ensure the cover is fully
closed before startingmower.
To Remove the Battery Packs
1. Lift and hold the battery port cover up to expose the
batteryports.
2. Depress the battery release buttons

packs and pull the battery packs out oftool.
