Field calibration check (fi g. G1–G3)
The fi eld calibration check must be performed securely and accurately to
make a correct diagnosis. Whenever an error is registered, have the tool
serviced by a qualifi ed repair agent.
WARNING: The conditions of the area are indicative of the
results presented. If the practice differs from these conditions,
the measurements have to be adjusted accordingly.
Place the tool in an area of at least 10 m by 5 m. Position the tool so
that it is aimed front-to-back towards the short walls.
Place the tool at approximately 10 cm from the wall as measured from
the rear of the tool. Mark the intersection point of the laser lines (8).
Switch on the tool. Mark the centre of the laser line (9) pointing forward
on the opposite short wall.
Locate the position of the laser beam halfway between the short walls
using a target. Mark this point (10) on the fl oor. Switch off the tool.
Move the tool in a straight line to the fl oor marking (10).
Switch on the tool. Align the intersection point of the laser lines with the
oor marking (10).
Align the laser beam pointing forward with the wall marking (9).
Mark the centre of the laser line pointing sideways (11) on the long wall.
Switch off the tool and rotate it 90° counterclockwise.
Switch on the tool. Align the intersection point of the laser lines with the
oor marking (10).
Align the laser beam pointing forward with the wall marking (11).
Locate the position of the laser beam pointing sideways parallel to the
starting point (8) at the short wall using a target. Mark this point (12) on
the fl oor. Switch off the tool.
Measure the difference between the markings (8 & 12).
If the difference between the markings is 4 mm or less, the tool is
properly calibrated.
If the difference between the markings is more than 4 mm, the tool must
be serviced.
