Note: FS=Full Scale LSD= Least Significant Digit (Full range of the unit to be used for both low & high scale calculations)

Particular care should be taken not to over pressure the device as this may rupture the sensor membrane. This is

not covered by the manuafacturers warranty.

Note: The differential/gauge instrument will only measure relative pressures i.e positive pressure applied to the

positive port or negative pressure applied to the negative port.

Instrument Application

The 2022P7 is suitable for the measurement of differential pressure.

Instrument Operation

The instrument requires two AA or equivalent cells. These are not supplied with the unit.

When the batteries require changing the following symbol will be displayed:

Please ensure the screws holding the battery compartment are firmly tightened when inserting or replacing batteries

to ensure the IP67 rating is maintained.

Press ON key to turn unit ON. Press OFF key to turn unit OFF.

The unit will switch OFF automatically after 12 minutes, unless any key is activated.

To disable automatic switch off, hold Key when the unit is being switched on. This will disable the automatic

switch-off function until the unit is switched off.

Out of Range

If pressure exceeds the scale range Out will appear on the display.

Zeroing

In order to achieve maximum accuracy, it is recommended to zero the instrument in the orientation it will be used

before taking any measurements.

Ensure both ports are open to atmospheric pressure, if indicated pressure is within 3% full scale of the factory

calibrated zero, press 0.0 key which will adjust the reading to zero.

Hold Function

To enable the Hold Function, press the “Hold” button, press again to release the Hold Function.

Hose fitting

The input port(s) on the instrument are designed to accept a hose with 4mm Internal Diameter and 1mm wall. The

hose is fitted by unscrewing the clamping nut, sliding the hose on to the stepped shaft and refitting the nut.

WARNING – Maximum torque is 2Nm, only tighten the clamping nut and not fitted port otherwise this may sheer

the port which is not covered under warranty.

Usage Features:

Power: The instrument requires two AA or equivalent cells (not supplied). It features an automatic shut-off after 12 minutes of inactivity, which can be disabled by holding the "Key" button during power-on.
Zeroing: For maximum accuracy, it is recommended to zero the instrument in its intended orientation before measurements. With both ports open to atmospheric pressure, if the indicated pressure is within 3% full scale of the factory calibrated zero, pressing the "0.0" key will adjust the reading to zero.
Hold Function: A "Hold" button allows users to freeze the current reading on the display. Pressing it again releases the function.
Smoothing Mode: Pressing the "=" key activates a smoothing mode, which continuously averages the last four measurements for a more stable reading. Pressing "=" again returns to normal settings.
Unit Selection: The "Key" button allows users to select the desired units of pressure. Chosen units are saved even when the instrument is switched off.
Max/Min Function: Pressing the "Key" button initiates the Max/Min function. The instrument will display alternating "symbols" and the current reading. Subsequent presses will display the maximum pressure reading (with "symbol") and then the minimum pressure reading (with "symbol"). Pressing again returns to the actual pressure display. To reset the Max/Min recorder function, the instrument must be switched off.
Range Lock: This feature, indicated by "A/R" on the display, provides readings at the best resolution. It can be toggled on/off by pressing the "A/R" key. When off, the display will use the same resolution across the entire pressure range, preventing resolution changes due to pressure fluctuations.
Backlight: Pressing and holding the "ON" key activates the backlight for improved visibility.
Out of Range Indicator: If pressure exceeds the scale range, "Out" will appear on the display.
Hose Fitting: The input port(s) are designed for hoses with a 4mm Internal Diameter and 1mm wall. Hoses are fitted by unscrewing the clamping nut, sliding the hose onto the stepped shaft, and refitting the nut.

Maintenance Features & Important Considerations:

Battery Replacement: When the battery symbol is displayed, batteries need changing. Ensure the screws holding the battery compartment are firmly tightened after replacement to maintain the IP67 rating.
Over-pressure Warning: Particular care should be taken not to over-pressure the device, as this may rupture the sensor membrane and is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Differential/Gauge Measurement: The instrument measures relative pressures. Positive pressure should be applied to the positive port, and negative pressure to the negative port.
Liquid Media Compatibility (CAUTION):
- Liquid media should only be applied to Port +. Port - is not compatible with liquids.
- Ensure liquid media contains no particulates.
- It is recommended to position the sensor with Port + facing downwards to minimize particulates entering and settling within the sensor.
- Ensure liquid media does not leave a residue when drained.
- Ensure liquid media is compatible with wetted materials.
- The sensor is NOT compatible with: Gasoline, Motor oil, Transmission fluid, Brake & hydraulic fluids, Toluene, Cetons, Freon, Diesel fuel, Crude oil.
- However, these incompatible substances can be measured using an additional "buffer" such as a "U" tube filled with silicone oil or a large air buffer.
- Failure to comply with these instructions may result in product damage, which is not covered by the manufactured warranty.
Clamping Nut Torque: The maximum torque for the clamping nut is 2Nm. Only tighten the clamping nut, not the fitted port, to avoid shearing the port, which is not covered under warranty.

Warranty:

The instrument is warranted against faulty workmanship and materials for one year from the date of purchase. During this period, any defective instrument will be repaired or replaced at the manufacturer's discretion. This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from misuse, accident, modification, adjustment, or any alteration to the internal arrangement of the instrument.
