Summary

Components

Using Your Telescope

Unpack and Identify Parts

Carefully remove all parts from the box, noting the pre-fitted diagonal mirror and 20mm eyepiece.

Set Up the Tripod

Stand the tripod vertically and spread the three legs fully apart for stability.

Adjust Telescope Angle

Release the bolt and wing nut to move the telescope as desired, then secure it.

Change Eyepiece for Magnification

Release the thumbscrew, remove the 20mm eyepiece, and replace with the 10mm eyepiece for higher magnification.

Helpful Hints

Viewing Location: Outdoors Recommended

View outside for best results, as windows can distort images due to reflections or air currents.

Temperature Equalization

Allow the telescope to adjust to outside temperatures for up to 30 minutes for optimal lens performance.

Minimize Light Pollution

Find a viewing spot away from bright lights, especially in urban areas, for clearer views.

Prevent Condensation on Lenses

Avoid sudden temperature changes; if condensation occurs, remove caps and let it evaporate pointing downwards.

About Magnification

How to Calculate Magnification

Divide the telescope's focal length (500mm) by the eyepiece's focal length for magnification.

Magnification with Included Eyepieces

The 20mm eyepiece provides 25X magnification, and the 10mm eyepiece provides 50X magnification.

Taking Care Of Your Telescope

Use Dust Caps When Not in Use

Keep the dust caps on the lens and eyepieces when the telescope is not in use or during transport.

Manage Condensation

Remove dust caps and let moisture evaporate naturally if condensation occurs, pointing downwards to avoid dust.

Cleaning the Lens

Blow away dust particles. For tougher dirt, use a moistened lens tissue or cloth.
