Inspect jobsite before transporting equipment. Check for the
following:
• Overall grade or slope
• Changes in elevation such as hills or open trenches
• Obstacles such as buildings, railroad crossings, or streams
• Signs of utilities (See SAFETY)
• Traffic
• Access
• Soil type and condition
• Water supply
• Sources of locator interference (rebar, railroad tracks, etc.)
Take soil samples from several locations along bore path to
determine best bit and backreamer combinations.
