Symptom:
*PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH OR SWITCHES INOPERATIVE
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
SELECT SWITCH OR SWITCHES
PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX WIRE OPEN
PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH RETURN WIRE OPEN
PASSENGER HANDLE SWITCH RETURN WIRE OPEN
PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH RETURN WIRE OPEN
PASSENGER HANDLE SWITCH MUX WIRE OPEN
PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX WIRE OPEN
BODY CONTROL MODULE - SWITCH MUX OPEN
BODY CONTROL MODULE - SWITCH RETURN OPEN
PASSENGER HANDLE SWITCH
PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SWITCH

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 With the DRBIIIt, read DTC’s.
Does the DRBIIIt display any Passenger Door Switch related trouble codes?
All
Yes → Refer to symptom list for problems related to POWER DOOR
LOCKS/RKE.
No → Go To 2
2 Select the appropriate Passengers Door Switch or Switches that are inoperative. All
All Switches.
Go To 3
Interior or Exterior Handle Switch
Go To 8
Door Lock Switch
Go To 11
3 Disconnect one of the Passenger Door Switch connectors.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the Passenger Door Switch
Return circuit.
NOTE: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to
that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
All
Yes → Go To 4
No → Go To 7
