4) Standby Mode
You can choose to enable or disable standby mode. Use the left and right keys to choose your
preferred option, then press the enter key to save this setting. Disabling standby mode will not
switch the Dot Mini to standby mode even after the saved waiting time.
You can select the waiting time to 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, or 30 minutes. Use the up
and down keys to choose your preferred waiting time, then press the enter key to save this
setting.
5) Language
You can select the language to use the Dot Mini in. (For English braille, you may also select the
grade of braille.)
You can change the language in the ‘Language’ menu using the left and right keys to select the
preferred language, then pressing ‘Enter’ to confirm the language change.
For English braille, you can use the ‘Grade’ menu to choose between uncontracted braille or
contracted braille. Selecting ‘Grade 1’ will display all braille words in uncontracted form, while
selecting ‘Grade 2’ will display specific braille words in their contracted form.
6) Battery
In the ‘Battery’ menu, you can check the battery percentage and charging status of the Dot Mini.
There are two ways to check the remaining battery status. The first way is using a shortcut, which
is to press the shift key and control key simultaneously. The second way is to check the battery
status from the Settings menu.
If a charging cable is connected when you check your battery status, the word ‘Charging’ will be
displayed on the braille cell, followed by the battery percentage. Otherwise, the word ‘Battery’ will
be displayed, followed by the battery percentage. For example, if the charging cable is not
connected and the device has 51% battery remaining, the braille cells will read [Battery 51%]. If
the charging cable is connected and the device has 51% battery remaining, the braille cells will
read [Charging 51%].
