Ceiling-mounted version with integrated castors
Transport for service activities
The device version with integrated castors may tip over under certain
circumstances. If handled incorrectly, the anesthesia machine may tip over during
transport. Personal injury or property damage may result as a consequence.
Transport includes:
– Any movement of the device on solid ground
– Docking or undocking the device with/from the ceiling supply unit
Note the following information concerning transport:
► Attached parts such as vaporizers, monitors, or arms must be removed before
the device is undocked for further transport.
► Preparation for transport and actual transport of the device must only be carried
out if there is no patient in the immediate vicinity.
► The device must not be used as a trolley version.
► Use only the handles intended for movement.
► The anesthesia machine may be moved only by persons who have the physical
ability to do so.
► Always have the anesthesia machine moved by 2 persons. This allows for better
maneuverability.
► When the device is moved over inclines, around corners, or over thresholds
(e.g., through doors or in elevators), make sure that it does not bump against
anything.
► Do not pull the device over hoses, cables, or other obstacles lying on the floor.
► Take particular care when moving the device on inclines greater than 5°.
6.2.2 Combination with ceiling supply units
The ceiling-mounted version can be docked with ceiling supply units. There is no
requirement for a key switch.
The key for the key switch is not required at any time for docking or undocking.
When using a ceiling supply unit with a key switch, it may be required to put the key
switch into horizontal position. The key switch must remain in this position.
The ceiling supply unit must have an adequate maximum load.
