1 Touch the System setup... button in the main
menu bar.
2 Touch the System status tab (A).
3 Touch the Battery check tab (B).
4 Enter the password and confirm with Enter.
5 Touch the On button (C) or the Off button (D)
and confirm with the rotary knob.
The following are not available when the battery
check is deactivated:
The battery check page
–The Battery parameter field
Alarm: Battery check in progress
Alarm: Battery check recommended
The flashing symbol , which indicates the
following:
The battery check is running.
The interval for the battery check has
expired.
The last battery check failed.
Battery replacement is recommended.
Prerequisites for the battery check
during patient ventilation
The device is connected to the mains power
supply.
Prerequisites for the battery check when
a test lung is connected to the device
The device is connected to the mains power
supply.
Observe the following when performing the battery
check:
The device is prepared and ready for use.
The test lung is connected.
A ventilation pattern is set, e.g.:
–PC-AC
–FiO
2 =21%
–RR=12/min
Pinsp = 20 mbar (or hPa or cmH
2O)
PEEP = 5 mbar (or hPa or cmH2O)
The ventilation is started.

System setup
NOTE
The battery check can be performed regardless of
the operating state of the device. Pay attention to
the charge state indicator if the battery check is
performed while the patient is being ventilated.
