Overview

This document describes the DURATOOL Weighing Scale, models D03409 and D03410, which are compact digital scales designed for precise measurement and counting.

Function Description

The primary function of these devices is to accurately weigh items. They also offer a counting function, allowing users to count multiple items of the same weight. The scales are equipped with an LCD display to show measurements and operational status.

Usage Features

Important Safety Information:

  • Always place the scale on a stable, flat, vibration-free surface.
  • Avoid exposure to extreme heat or cold, moisture, vibration, air currents, and close proximity to other electronic equipment.
  • Allow sufficient warm-up time (30 seconds) for internal components to stabilize before calibration or use.
  • Handle with care; gently apply all items to be weighed onto the tray top.
  • Avoid shaking, dropping, or otherwise shocking the scale.
  • Always remove batteries if the scales are not to be used for long periods.

Operation:

  1. Place the scale on a horizontal flat surface.
  2. Press the [ON/OFF] key to turn on the scale.
  3. Wait until the LCD displays "0.0".
  4. Put the object(s) to be weighed on the weighing platform.
  5. Press the [M] key to switch between the weighing units.
  6. If the display shows "O-Ld", it indicates an overload; remove the excess load immediately to avoid damage.
  7. If the display shows "---" and the figures fluctuate, the scales are not properly supported on a flat surface.

Functions:

Tare Weighing:

  1. Turn on the scale as described above.
  2. Place the "tare item" (e.g., container) on the platform.
  3. Press the [T] button and wait until "0.0" is displayed.
  4. Add the "net-weight-item" into the container, and the screen will display the weight.

Counting Function:

  1. Turn on the scale and wait until the LCD displays "0.0".
  2. Place a sample amount (25pcs, 50pcs, 60pcs, 75pcs or 100pcs) of the item you wish to weigh and count onto the platform.
  3. Press and HOLD [PCS] key for 2 seconds; the LCD will display a random number, for example "100" and "PCS" will flash in the corner.
  4. Press the [M] key to set the correct sample amount of items that you have put onto the platform.
  5. Briefly press the [PCS] key to confirm the above information; the LCD will now display "PCS" solid in the corner to show that the scale is in counting mode.
  6. Remove the sample quantity from the platform.
  7. Now, place any amount of your item(s) on the scale, and the LCD will display a count.
  8. You can switch between weighing mode and counting mode by pressing the [M] or [PCS] key respectively.

Calibration:

  • NOTE: Calibration is not required before initial use but only if "out2" is displayed or at intervals as a check to ensure accuracy.
  1. Reset the scale by pressing the [ON/OFF] key.
  2. Wait until the LCD displays "0.0" and then press and HOLD the [M] key for 3 seconds.
  3. The LCD will display "Zero" followed by the required calibration weight.
  4. Add the required calibration weight; the display will show "PASS" and return to normal weighing mode.
  5. Store the calibration weight safely and press [ON/OFF] to turn off the scale. Calibration is complete.

Maintenance Features

Battery Replacement:

  • When the LCD display starts to fade, it is necessary to replace the batteries. Measurement may still be made for several hours, although accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
  • Slide the battery cover away from the instrument and remove the batteries.
  • Replace with new AAA batteries, noting the correct polarity, and refit the cover.

Cleaning the Casing:

  • Wipe using a moist cloth or sponge.
  • Do not use solvents, as these may damage the casing.
  • Avoid scratching the LCD screen.
  • Do not immerse in water or allow moisture to enter the casing.

Waste Disposal Information:

These symbols indicate that separate collection of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) or waste batteries is required. Do not dispose of these items with general household waste. Separate them for treatment, recovery, and recycling of the materials used. Contact your local authority for details of the battery and WEEE recycling schemes available in your area.
