Overview

This document provides the installation and usage instructions for a motorized TV ceiling mount, designed to offer a flexible and space-saving solution for displaying televisions. The mount allows for remote-controlled adjustment of the TV's position, including tilt and rotation, to achieve optimal viewing angles.

Function Description

The motorized TV ceiling mount is designed to securely hold a television and allow it to be lowered, raised, and tilted via remote control. This functionality is particularly useful in spaces where a wall mount is not feasible or where a discreet, hidden installation is desired. The mount supports various TV sizes and VESA patterns, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of televisions. The motorized mechanism provides smooth and precise movement, enhancing the user's viewing experience.

The mount features a remote control that allows users to:

  • Power the mount on and off.
  • Lower and raise the TV.
  • Adjust the tilt angle of the TV.
  • Set and recall preferred viewing positions (memory functions).
  • Reset the tilt range to a pitched ceiling.
  • Perform a manual mode operation for fine adjustments.

The system also includes safety features such as automatic stop mechanisms to prevent over-extension and a warning system for potential issues like overheating or communication errors.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual highlights key specifications for two models:

  • EL-DHM-S55: Supports VESA patterns of 100x100, 200x200, 300x300, 400x400, 500x500, and 600x400. It is suitable for 32" to 55" TVs and has a maximum load capacity of 35kg (77lbs).
  • EL-DHM-W55: Supports VESA patterns of 100x100, 200x200, 300x300, 400x400, 500x500, and 600x400. It is suitable for 32" to 55" TVs and has a maximum load capacity of 35kg (77lbs).

The dimensions of the mount are provided in diagrams, showing a length of 716mm, a width of 430mm, and a height that varies depending on the position, with a minimum of 300mm and a maximum of 415mm when extended. The mounting plate for the ceiling has a dimension of approximately 150mm.

The power input for the mount is 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz, 1.5A. The output is 24V DC, 2A.

Usage Features

Remote Control Operation

The remote control is the primary interface for operating the mount. It features dedicated buttons for:

  • Power On/Off: Turns the mount on or off.
  • Up/Down Arrows: Controls the vertical movement of the TV.
  • Tilt Up/Down Arrows: Adjusts the tilt angle of the TV.
  • Memory Buttons (1, 2, 3): Allows users to save and recall up to three preferred viewing positions. To save a position, adjust the TV to the desired angle, then press and hold the memory button for 3 seconds until a beep is heard. To recall, simply press the memory button.
  • Reset Tilt Range for Pitched Ceiling: This feature allows the user to adjust the tilt range if the mount is installed on a pitched ceiling. The steps involve adjusting the TV to the desired upper and lower limits, then pressing and holding specific buttons to set these limits.
  • Manual Mode: Provides fine control over the TV's movement. Pressing the "M" button activates manual mode, allowing for precise adjustments using the up/down and tilt buttons.

Coding of Remote Controller and Control Box

To pair a new remote control or re-pair an existing one with the control box:

  1. Ensure the mount is powered on.
  2. Press the "Coding" button on the control box (located on the side of the box) for approximately 10 seconds until a long beep is heard.
  3. Press any button on the remote control. The control box will emit two short beeps to confirm successful pairing.

Error Indication and Troubleshooting

The manual outlines several error conditions and their corresponding solutions:

  • Buzzer Constantly Gives Out Alarm Sound: This indicates an overload or overheating issue. The solution is to turn off the power, allow the unit to cool down for 24 hours, and then restart. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
  • Remote Control Problems:
    • Remote control not working: Check the battery, ensure the power is on, and re-pair the remote control if necessary.
    • Buttons on remote control don't work: Check the battery, ensure the power is on, and re-pair the remote control.
  • The Insensitivity of Remote Control (The functional distance is less than 5m.): Replace the battery. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
  • Abnormal Operation (The TV mount can't be adjusted to 0° or 75°): This indicates a potential issue with the tilt limits. The solution is to perform a reset of the tilt range. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
  • Can't Operate:
    • No power: Check the power connection and ensure the outlet is working.
    • Remote not working: Check the battery, re-pair the remote.
    • Obstruction: Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the TV from moving freely.
    • Overload: Ensure the TV weight does not exceed the maximum load capacity.
  • Abnormal Noise: This could indicate an issue with the motor or moving parts. Check for obstructions. If the noise persists, contact customer service.

Maintenance Features

The manual emphasizes several important safety and maintenance guidelines:

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check the mount for any signs of damage, loose screws, or wear and tear.
  • Cleaning: Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Weight Limit: Never exceed the maximum load capacity of the mount (35kg/77lbs). Overloading can cause damage to the mount and potential injury.
  • Installation: Ensure the mount is installed on a structurally sound ceiling capable of supporting the combined weight of the mount and the TV. Professional installation is recommended.
  • Cable Management: Properly route and secure all cables to prevent them from getting pinched or tangled during movement. Use the provided cable ties and clips.
  • Environmental Conditions: The mount is designed for indoor use only. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Electrical Safety: Do not attempt to repair or modify the electrical components of the mount. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Child Safety: Keep the remote control out of reach of children. Do not allow children to play with the mount.

The manual also provides a detailed parts list and assembly instructions, guiding users through the installation process step-by-step, from attaching the ceiling plate to mounting the TV and connecting the cables. It highlights the importance of using all provided parts and ensuring secure connections for safe and reliable operation.
