Hardwired UPS Installation
Most of the sections in this manual are required for the electrician to install the hardwired models
If a bypass switch is not used, the UPS input may be hardwired through conduit to a main power source circuit
breaker, and the UPS output may either be hardwired to a circuit breaker in a distribution panel. Without a
bypass switch, power to the load cannot be maintained if the UPS is taken completely offline.
• Be sure to read section 1.1 “Safety Warnings” before installing the UPS as stated .
• Complete section 3.1 “Location Requirements” .
• Continue to section 4.1 “UPS Hardwired Installation” which describes the electrical installation
requirements for hardwiring the UPS.
• Continue to section 8.1 “Startup For Hardwired Units” in the Eaton Ferrups FX series UPS users guide for
units that do not have an external bypass switch.

UPS.
• If you purchased a external battery cabinet see section 5.1 “Preparation for Battery Installation” for wiring
connections.
