The unit is a photoelectric 3V DC smoke alarm. It is operated by 3v AA Alkaline
battery. With the photoelectric technology, it is more sensitive to detecting slow
smolder fires which general thick, black smoke, little heat and may smolder for
hours before bursting into flames. The smoke alarm do not contain the
radioactive material which is harmless to the environment.
The smoke alarm should be installed in every room (except the bathroom), and
every other area of the home, making sure the people in the home will be able
to hear and respond to the alarm sound. For minimum protection you should fit
an alarm in the hallway between the living areas and sleeping areas. Place the
unit near to the living areas as possible and ensure the alarm is audible when
the bedrooms are occupied.
Typical single storey dwelling with recommended:
Install a smoke alarm on the ceiling inside each bedroom and in the hallway
outside each separate sleeping area. If a bedroom area hallway is more than 30
feet long, install a smoke alarm at each end. If there is a basement: install a
smoke alarm on the basement ceiling at the bottom of the stairwell.
Typical multi-storey dwelling with recommended protection.
Install a smoke alarm on the ceiling inside each bedroom and in the hallway
outside each separate sleeping area. If a bedroom area hallway is more than 30
feet long, install a smoke alarm at each end install a smoke alarm at the top of a
first – to- second floor stairwell.

This document describes the FJ158D-H04 Wireless Photoelectric Smoke Alarm, a device designed for early detection of slow smoldering fires.

Function Description:

The FJ158D-H04 is a photoelectric 3V DC smoke alarm, powered by two 1.5V AA alkaline batteries. It utilizes photoelectric technology, making it highly sensitive to detecting slow smoldering fires, which typically produce thick, black smoke and little heat, and can smolder for hours before igniting into flames. The device does not contain radioactive materials, ensuring it is harmless to the environment.

The smoke alarm is designed to be installed in every room of a home (excluding bathrooms) and other areas to ensure that all occupants can hear and respond to the alarm sound. For minimum protection, it is recommended to install an alarm in the hallway between living and sleeping areas, placing it as close as possible to living areas and ensuring audibility in bedrooms.

Usage Features:

Connectivity with Wi-Fi (Tuya Smart App):

The device can be connected to the internet via Wi-Fi using the "Tuya Smart" app.

  1. App Download and Registration: Search for and download "Tuya Smart" from the app store. Register an account using a cell phone number or email, then log in.
  2. Adding the Device:
    • Ensure the Wi-Fi connection is working.
    • Click "Add Home" or the "+" icon on the top right corner of the home interface.
    • Select "Security & Sensor (WiFi)".
  3. Smart Mode Networking (Recommended):
    • Enter the "Add Device" interface.
    • Press the smoke alarm button 3 times continuously within 2 seconds (this must be done while the device is powered on).
    • Once the module LED flashes rapidly (it may take a moment for the LED to flash quickly, so be patient), click "Confirm indicator rapidly blinks".
    • Choose your Wi-Fi network, input the Wi-Fi password, and click "Confirm".
    • A circular progress bar will indicate the connection status.
  4. AP Mode Networking:
    • Enter the "Add Device" interface and click "Compatible Mode".
    • Press the smoke alarm button 3 times continuously within 2 seconds (while powered on).
    • When the LED flashes slowly (indicating networking in progress), click "Confirm indicator slowly blink".
    • Choose your Wi-Fi network, input the Wi-Fi password, and click "Confirm".
    • Click "Go to connect", select the "smartlife-xxxx" internet connection, then return to the Tuya APP to view the progress bar.
  5. Connection Status: Once the progress bar is complete and the device is successfully added, click "Done" to display the device interface.
  6. Troubleshooting Connection: If the connection fails, click "I got it" to try again, repeating either Smart Mode or AP Mode networking steps.

Alarm Information and Notifications:

  • When an alarm occurs, the Tuya platform sends an alarm message to the mobile phone app.
  • Messages pop up approximately once a minute; if multiple alarm messages occur within one minute, only one will be displayed.
  • The "Profile," "Message center," and "Product/HISTORY" sections of the app will display records of alarm events.
  • The smoke alarm panel itself does not support alarm modes with color changes, but the battery LOGO can display battery information.
  • These records can be deleted or managed within the app.

Maintenance Features:

Device Management within the App:

  • Modifying Device Name: Users can change the name of the smoke alarm within the app.
  • Device Location: The location of the device can be set (e.g., Living Room).
  • Network Check: Users can check the network status of the device.
  • Share Devices: The device can be shared with other users.
  • Device Info: Access detailed information about the device.
  • Feedback: Provide feedback to the developers.
  • Firmware Update: Check for and install firmware updates.
  • Remove Device: The device can be removed from the app.
  • Restore Manufacturer Defaults: Reset the device to its factory settings.

Account Management:

  • Home Management: Click the drop-down arrow next to "123" (or your home name) and select "Home management" to access home settings.
  • Remove Family: To exit a family group, click "Remove family" and then "Confirm leave".
  • Logout: To exit the account directly, go to "Profile", then "Settings", and finally "Logout".

The device is designed for ease of use and maintenance, providing comprehensive monitoring and notification capabilities through the Tuya Smart app.
