ENGINE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT ENGINE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
e idle setting of the carburetor has a big inuence on the
vehicle’s starting behavior, on stable idling and on the vehi-
cles response when the throttle is opened.
An engine with a correctly set idle speed is easier to start
than an engine with the idle speed set incorrectly.
e idle speed is adjusted with the idle speed adjusting
screw.
1. If the engine is cold, start it up and warm it up for
3-4 minutes. en shut it o.
2. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
3. Shi the transmission into neutral. Start the engine.
4. Remember to keep the motorcycle in an upright
position.
5. Adjust the idle speed with the idle adjusting
screw or knob (A)(A)

Carburetor and engine areas are very hot, especially after a
long ride. Wear hand protection before attempting to make,
adjustments to the carburetor.
