Overview

The Elgento Electric Wok, model E14018, is a kitchen appliance designed for household use, offering a convenient way to prepare various dishes. This electric wok operates on an AC power supply of 220V-240V ~50Hz and has a powerful 1500W heating element, ensuring quick and efficient cooking. It is a Class 1 appliance, meaning it requires an earth connection for safety. The product is manufactured by PFD Ltd and is compliant with several directives, including the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2004/108/EEC), the Low Voltage Directive (2006/95EC), the RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC), and the Materials & Articles in Contact with Food (1935/2004/EC).

Function Description:

The primary function of the Elgento Electric Wok is to provide a versatile cooking surface for stir-frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods that benefit from a wok's shape and even heat distribution. It features a temperature regulator that allows users to adjust the heat from OFF to Maximum, providing precise control over the cooking process. An indicator lamp illuminates when the wok is heating, signaling its readiness for use. The appliance is designed for domestic purposes only and is not intended for commercial use.

Usage Features:

Before initial use, it is crucial to dry both the inner and outer surfaces of the appliance, especially the plug and the pedestal, to prevent electric shock. The temperature regulator must be fully inserted into the pan body to ensure proper connection and prevent damage from overheating due to bad contact. Before connecting power, the regulator knob should be turned counterclockwise to the "off" position. Users should verify that the rated voltage and current of the power supply are correct and that the supply has safe earth, with a current not less than 10A.

To operate, connect the power supply, turn the regulator knob clockwise, and the indicator lamp will light up, indicating that the wok is heating. The temperature can be adjusted as needed during cooking by turning the knob clockwise to increase heat (from OFF to Maximum) and counterclockwise to decrease heat (from Maximum to OFF).

Safety Precautions:

  • Always ensure the temperature regulator is fully connected to the pan body to avoid overheating and damage.
  • After use, turn the regulator knob counterclockwise to the "off" position, remove the plug from the socket, and then unplug the power plug from the appliance.
  • Do not touch the pan during cooking or immediately after power off, as it will be very hot. Allow it to cool fully.
  • All repairs must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself, as there are no user-replaceable components.
  • Avoid using the appliance in wet or damp environments or outdoors, as this may cause a hazard and damage the appliance.
  • Do not operate the appliance with an empty pan, as this can damage the non-stick coating due to high temperatures.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by children or individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without adequate supervision or instruction from a responsible person.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance in conjunction with remote or timer devices, as this presents a fire hazard.
  • It is recommended to use oven gloves or similar heat protection when handling the product.
  • Allow the power connector to cool fully before handling or storage.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: After each use, unplug the power plug and remove the temperature regulator.
  • Temperature Regulator and Power Plug: To avoid electric shock, do not immerse the temperature regulator and power plug in liquid or water.
  • Appliance Body: Only start cleaning the appliance after it has cooled down completely. Use a soft cloth to clean the appliance gently.
  • Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use metal brushes or corrosive solvents, as these can damage the coating and surface of the pan.
  • Interior Cleaning: Fill the pan with hot soapy water and wipe it around with a soft, wet cloth.
  • Liquid Contact: In the interest of safety, avoid allowing the elements of this appliance to come into contact with water or other liquids.
