The Elite Gourmet hi-Q Nutri Smart Blender, model EPB-5455, is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for efficient food processing, particularly for creating beverages and various food preparations. This nutritional blender is primarily used for blending a wide range of ingredients to create fresh fruit or fitness beverages, milkshakes, and other cocktails. The blender is also capable of crushing ice, making it a multi-functional tool for various culinary tasks. Its powerful 1200-watt motor ensures efficient blending, while the six-blade assembly, made from quality stainless steel, handles tough ingredients with ease. The appliance is equipped with several pre-programmed functions and a pulse option, allowing users to select the optimal blending mode for different types of food.
The blender comes with two sizes of blending jars: a small 24oz. jar and a large 34oz. jar, both made from BPA-free titan material. These jars are designed to double as convenient drinking bottles, enhancing portability. Each jar can be sealed with a screw-on cap, available with or without a drinking spout, to prevent spills while carrying beverages.
Operating the blender involves a straightforward process. First, ingredients are placed into the blending jar, ensuring not to exceed the MAX fill mark. The blade assembly is then screwed onto the neck of the blending jar, with the blades pointing inwards. The assembled blending jar is then inverted and inserted into the motor unit, aligning the tabs on the jar with the slots on the motor unit. A safety mechanism ensures the blender will not start unless the blending jar assembly is properly attached.
The control panel features a backlit LED display that shows the count-down blending time. Users can choose from several programs:
A power switch located at the back right side of the blender turns the unit ON/OFF. To start blending, the assembled blending jar is rotated clockwise on the motor unit, and the desired program is selected. If ingredients become stuck, the user can press the STOP button, unplug the appliance, remove the jar, and use a plastic spatula to clear the contents before reassembling and continuing.
For safety, it is important to allow hot liquids and foodstuffs to cool to at least 45°C before blending to prevent steam release and potential burns. The maximum continuous operating time is 1 minute, with a recommended 3-minute cool-down period between operations to prevent motor overload. For dry ingredients, continuous operation should not exceed 30 seconds. The blender is equipped with a thermal fuse that protects the motor from damage in case of overload, automatically shutting off the appliance if necessary.
Maintaining the Elite Gourmet hi-Q Nutri Smart Blender is designed to be simple and convenient. Before any cleaning or disassembly, the motor unit must be turned off and disconnected from the power socket, and all rotating parts must have come to a complete stop.
All parts intended for contact with food, including the blending jars, caps, and blade assembly, should be thoroughly washed with warm water and a neutral kitchen detergent. After rinsing with clean water, these parts can be air-dried or wiped dry. All removable parts are also safe to wash in the top rack of a dishwasher.
Special care must be taken when handling the blade assembly due to its sharp blades. It should always be held by the bottom plastic part, and users should never attempt to sharpen the blades. The blade assembly includes a gasket seal to ensure an air-tight blend. After dishwasher cleaning, it's crucial to check that this gasket seal is properly in place, as heat can sometimes cause it to loosen. A fine nylon brush can be used to thoroughly clean the blade assembly.
To prevent ingredients from drying on, it is recommended to wash accessories immediately after use. For dried-on ingredients, the blender can be run with the blending jar filled up to 2/3 with hot water. The outer surface of the motor unit can be cleaned with a cloth dipped in a weak detergent solution, followed by a wipe with a lightly dampened cloth and then dried. The motor unit and power cord should never be submerged in water or any other liquid. Harsh cleaning agents, thinners, or solvents that could abrade or damage the appliance's surface should be avoided.
When storing the appliance, it should be kept in a dry place out of children's reach. To prevent injury, the blade assembly should remain attached to the blending jar during storage.
