3.5.6 Connecting to a Rosemount 2460 System Hub
There are several ways to connect a host system to a Rosemount 2460 System Hub:
to a Host Port using TRL2 bus
to a Host Port using RS232 or RS485
via Ethernet Eth1 port
The TRL2 Bus requires a twisted and shielded pair cable with a cross-sectional area of 0.50 to 2.5 mm
2
(AWG 20 to 14). A Rosemount 2180 Field Bus Modem (FBM) is used to connect the system hub to
TankMaster or other host computer.
A service PC can be connected to the Ethernet Eth3 port for configuration and maintenance.
For RS232 communication, wiring cross-sectional area must be at least 0.25 mm
2
(AWG 24 or similar).
The maximum length of the RS232 connection is 30 m at baud rate 4800.
See Figure 3-5 on page 33 and Table 3-6 on page 34 for information on terminal block connections.
