12 Diagnostics and troubleshooting
12.1 General troubleshooting
For output signals
Problem Possible causes Remedy
Green power LED on the main
electronics module of the
transmitter is dark
Supply voltage does not match that
specified on the nameplate.
Apply the correct supply voltage
(  30).

Power supply cable connected
incorrectly
Check the terminal assignment .
Green power LED on Safety Barrier
Promass 100 is dark
Supply voltage does not match that
specified on the nameplate.
Apply the correct supply voltage

Device measures incorrectly. Configuration error or device is
operated outside the application.
1. Check and correct parameter
configuration.
2. Observe limit values specified in
the "Technical Data".

communication interface
Check the Modbus RS485
configuration (  47).
No connection via service interface Incorrect configuration of USB
interface on PC or driver not
installed correctly.

Various light emitting diodes (LEDs) on the main electronics module of the transmitter
provide information on device status.
LED Color Meaning
Power Off Supply voltage is off or too low.
Green Supply voltage is ok.
