Paper Pickup Roller Unit Removal
1. Remove the printer mechanism. (See page 3-9.)
2. Remove the carriage unit. (See page 3-22.)
3. Remove the paper eject frame unit. (See page 3-24.)
4. Remove the base frame. (See page 3-26.)
5. Remove the paper eject drive unit. (See page 3-27.)
6. Turn the paper feed roller unit clockwise with the knob, moving the trigger lever on the right
end of paper feed roller to set the hopper assembly to the lowest position. (The trigger lever is
shown in Figure 3-24.)
7. Remove the E-ring on the left end of the paper pickup roller unit.
8. Disengage the left end of the paper pickup roller bushing, securing it to the left frame.
9. Disengage the connection between the spur gear and paper pickup gear, and then remove the
paper pickup roller unit by moving it to the left side.
CAUTION
When disengaging the ASF transmission ratchet from the paper pickup roller unit, remove
the ratchet to prevent it from hitting the spur gear (24 mm) as shown in the following
figure.
