The printer sounds like it is printing, but nothing prints.

The print head nozzles may be clogged. Turn the
PAUSE

off. Next, hold down the
ALT
button and press the
PAUSE

Set the Mixed text/graphics mode to on in the default-settings

The printed image is light or faint.

When the printed image is light or faint even after you clean
the print head, the ink cartridge is empty. Replace the ink
cartridge with a new one.
The paper-thickness lever may not be set correctly. The raised
position for envelopes may cause faint printouts if used for
plain paper. For details on the paper-thickness lever, see
“Loading Paper Manually” in Chapter
2.
