Troubleshooting Unit Level Troubleshooting 59
CR Unit hits against the right or
left frame.
General error. Turn
the printer off.
* At turning
power on, this
indication is not
displayed, but
the icon for
cartridge flashes
and the printer
does not accept
any operation on
the panel.
CR Encoder 1. Check to see if the CR Encoder Board has been
mounted on the CR Unit properly.
2. Check to see if the Encoder FFC is connected to the
CR Encoder Board properly.
3. Check to see if the CR Scale (Linear Encoder) is
positioned between the sensor elements.
4. Check to see if there is no paper dust or any other
foreign matters adhering to the sensor on the CR
Encoder Board.
5. Check to see if the CR Encoder is damaged.
1. Install the CR Encoder Board properly.
2. Connect the Encoder FFC to the CR Encoder
Board.
3. Install the CR Scale (Linear Encoder) between
the sensor elements.
4. Remove the paper dust or any other foreign
matters from the sensor on the CR Encoder
Board.
5. Replace the CR Encoder Board with a new
one.
CR Scale 1. Check to see if the CR Scale (Linear Scale) is
damaged.
1. Replace the CR Scale (Linear Scale) with a
new one.
CR is obstructed by something,
thus does not move.
Right Bush Roller 1. Check to see if the Right Bush Roller is in position. 1. Replace the Right Bush Roller with a new one.
Paper Guide Top 1. Check to see if the Paper Guide Top is in position. 1. Replace the Paper Guide Top with a new one.
Cutter does not return to the
home position.
Cutter Unit 1. Check to see if the movable cutter is on the 80th digit
position.
1. Replace the Cutter Unit.
CR Unit moves a little and the
PF Roller rotates by a half turn.
PF Encoder 1. Check to see if the PF Encoder Board has been
mounted on the carriage properly.
2. Check to see if the Encoder FFC is connected to the PF
Encoder Board properly.
3. Check to see if the PF Scale (Rotary Encoder) is
positioned between the sensor elements.
4. Check to see if there is no paper dust or any other
foreign matters adhering to the sensor on the PF
Encoder Board.
5. Check to see if the PF Encoder is damaged.
1. Install the PF Encoder Board properly.
2. Connect the Encoder FFC to the PF Encoder
Board.
3. Install the PF Scale (Rotary Encoder) between
the sensor elements.
4. Remove the paper dust or any other foreign
matters from the sensor on the PF Encoder
Board.
5. Replace the PF Encoder Board with a new one.
PF Scale 1. Check to see if the PF Scale (Rotary Scale) is
damaged.
1. Replace the PF Scale (Rotary Scale) with a
new one.
