Solving Miscellaneous Printout Problems 101
■ Use a triangle or other tool to make sure the end of the roll is cut perpendicular to the
edges. If the end is cut on a diagonal, the paper may not feed smoothly.
■ If you see a paper jam error message, follow the instructions on the printer display to clear
the error.
■ If the red b error light is on, press the z roll paper button for 3 seconds, then pull the
paper fully out of the printer. Then press the
z roll paper button to clear the error and
resume printing.
■ If roll paper has jammed, follow these steps:
1. Cut off any completed printouts, if necessary.
2. Press the
z roll paper button and hold it down for 3 seconds. The paper feeds all the
way back.
3. Turn the knobs on the roll paper holders to rewind the paper so none remains in the
feed slot.
4. Press the
b maintenance button to clear the error message.
5. Make sure the paper is cut straight across and is not curled, then reload it.
■ If you’re using the cutter and your photos don’t stack neatly when they come out of the
printer, try extending the output tray.
■ If extra paper feeds after a print job or after you turn on the printer, press the z roll
paper button for three seconds to rewind the paper. (You may need to repeat this.) If
necessary, turn off the printer and gently pull the paper out backward by hand.
Solving Miscellaneous Printout Problems
The image is inverted.
Turn off the
Flip Horizontal setting in the Advanced window or the mirror setting in your
program. (If you’re printing on EPSON Iron-On Transfer Paper, the image should be
inverted.)
The printer prints blank pages.
■ Make sure your printer is selected, or is the active printer in the Print Center or
Macintosh Chooser.
■ The print head nozzles may need cleaning. See page 84.
