4.4.20 PF Roller Assy & PF Encoder Assy
1. Remove the Printer Mechanism. (p.107)
2. Remove the PF Motor. (p.125)
3. Remove the Carriage Assy. (p.116)
4. Remove the Release Assy. (p.121)
5. Remove the Upper Paper Guides. (p.123)
6. Remove the Paper Guide Front Assy (Platen). (p.119)
7. Disconnect the FFC of the PF Encoder Assy.
8. Remove the PF Encoder Assy by turning it toward the front while pressing the
projection from the direction of the inside of the frame.
9. Remove the PF Roller Hold Spring from the PF Roller Shaft.
10. Turn the bush on the side of the PF Encoder Scale and release it from the printer frame.
11. Remove slowly the PF Roller Assy from the printer frame.

C A U T I O N
 Take care during work not to scratch or soil the encoder scale
area of the PF Roller Assy.
 Do not touch the coated surface of the PF Roller Shaft with
your bare hand and do not scratch it. Otherwise, the paper feed
quality may be degraded.
 Lubrication is necessary. Refer to the following section and
lubricate the specified points:
Lubrication of EJ Frame Assy (p.160)
 Before installing the PF Roller Assy, check that the PF Roller
Holder Support Assy has been installed properly.
 See Figure 4-66 for the installation of the PF Roller Hold
Spring.
