CONNECTION OF VALVE ASSY AND I/C HOLDER ASSY
1. Engage the hooks (x2) of the Left I/C Holder Assy and hooks (x3) of the Right I/C
Holder Assy with the printer frame.
(See Figure 4-23)
2. Put the Joint Clamp on the Ink Tube Assy and connect the ink tubes to the Left I/C
Holder Assy via the Ink Joints.
(See Figure 4-25)
3. Connect the Ink Tube Assy to the Right I/C Holder Assy.
4. Set the Tube Spacer in place, and install the Spacer in the Joint Clamp.
5. Hang the Tube Guides 1 and 2 on the projection of the Right I/C Holder Assy.
6. Install the Tube Guide Ground Plate on the printer frame so as to hold the Tube Guides
1 and 2.

7. Insert the right and left shanks of the Tube Stopper into the printer frame, and engage
the hook and tighten the screw.

8. Fix the Head FFCs to the Left I/C Holder Assy with tape.
9. Elongate or contract the outermost Tube Guide made of Lumirror (polyester film)
around the area where it is installed, thus adjust its length to prevent the ink tubes from
being elongated or contracted excessively.

C A U T I O N
 In this process, there is a possibility of ink leakage. Take great
care not to stain any surrounding objects with ink.
 The ink tubes are very delicate. Take due care not to bend or
whiten them by applying undue force.
 The Joint Clamp, Spacer, Ink Joints (Black) x3, and Pressure
Tube (White) are likely to be damaged once they are removed.
Therefore, do not reuse them, but be sure to replace them with
new ones.

R E Q U I R E D
 On the occasion of replacing the Valve Assy with a new one as
required by a maintenance error, replace all the specified parts
with new ones and clear the counter value.
• 6.1.1 Maintenance Error (p.147)
 Be sure to carry out Step 9 above so that the ink tubes are not
elongated or contracted excessively.
