4.3.3 Printer Mechanism Disassembly
This section describes the procedures for disassembling the printer mechanism
components of EPSON Stylus Pro 10000/10000CF/10600.
4.3.3.1 Replacing the Waste Ink Pads
To keep the printhead clean and maintain quality, the printer drains waste ink away
from the printhead surface and nozzles into the Waste Ink Pads. Once a predetermined
amount of waste ink has been drained, the printer displays the “Maintenance Request
0100” message to indicate the pads are 99% full and then displays the “Service Request
00000100” message to indicate the pads are completely full and need to be replaced
before printing can continue.
1. Remove five screws (CP(W): M4x8) securing Waste Ink Cover.

C A U T I O N
This printer is designed for servicing on-site and the printer
mechanism is assembled with highly precise adjustments that can
only be carried out at manufacturing level.
Because of this reason, disassembly or components replacement on
certain part of printer mechanism is forbidden; unless otherwise
specifically instructed to do so. Doing so wihtout following the
instructions given in this manual could result in mulfunctioning of
printer or permanent damage with the components that unable to
restore original condition at field service level.
A photo below is an example showing the part of printer
mechanism where disassembly work is prohibited. (See also
[CAUTION] at page 115.)

C A U T I O N
When the waste ink counter indicates the ink pads need to be
replaced, the following parts all need to be replaced at the same
time.
Pump Cap Unit
Make sure to reset the following counters in [Maintenance Mode 2]
after replacing the related components.
