4.3.3.3 Replacing the Printhead
1. Prepare a discharge cartridge or a cleaning cartridge.
2. Refer to section 5.4.4.16 and perform head cleaning.
3. Remove the R Side Cover as described in 4.3.1.4 "R Side Cover Removal".
4. Use a finger to grasp the rear side of the Pump Cap Assy and pull it in the direction
of the arrow. Release the carriage lock and move Carriage from the home position
away from center.

When replacing the printheads, the following adjustment
procedures are required.
 Operation
1) Head Rank input
2) Initialize the Head Unit life counter
 Adjustment
1) Slant
2) Bi-D
3) Head LR
C A U T I O N
 Be sure to perform "Ink Discharge" before disassembly in order
to prevent ink leakage from removed printhead.
 The printhead for this printer has 3 heads unified into 1 set for
print quality stability, so absolutely do not disassemble beyond
the units provided as After Service Parts.
 Do not touch printhead surface with hands. If touched, natural
oils from hands will prevent ink from being emitted to correct
positions.
 The cleaning liquid used for Stylus Pro 10600 has been changed
to CR02. S46 which is used for Stylus Pro 10000/10000CF cannot
be used. Refer to below table.

Turn off power without performing counter clear at last menu
displayed after head cleaning.

The locked condition is formed by the lock lever of the Pump Cap Assy sticking
out to lock the Carriage.
