5.4.2 Manual Bi-D Adjustment
This menu allows you to perform a Bi-D adjustment by visually checking the print
alignment.
Paper Used
Size: 24” (Stylus Pro 7400/7800)
44” (Stylus Pro 9400/9800)
Type: Doubleweight Matte Paper
Procedure
1. Turn the printer ON.
2. Start up the Adjustment Program and select [Manual Bi-D Adjustment].
3. Select the platen gap setting ( ).
4. Click the [Next] button ( ).
5. Click the [Print] button to print the Bi-D adjustment pattern for Photo or
Matte black ( ).
(The pattern is printed in VSD1, VSD2, and VSD3 modes, so three patterns
are printed at a time.)
6. Examine the printout pattern, and select the value for the most sharpest and
straight line from the left and right pattern blocks respectively. Then calculate
the average of the selected two values. Perform this operation for each of the
three mode patterns. Enter the obtained value for each of the three modes into
the corresponding edit box ( ).
7. Click the [Write] button ( ) to write the input values. When the writing is
completed, click the [OK] button ( ).
8. Click the [Next] button ( ).
