Note:
• Do not replace the maintenance box while printing, otherwise ink may leak.
• Do not reuse a maintenance box you have removed from the printer and exposed to air for a long
period of time. The box will not absorb any more ink.
• To view the replacement procedure on the LCD screen before the message appears, select
maintenance > Replace Maintenance Box > Maintenance Box > How To....
1. Check the LCD screen to determine which maintenance box needs to be replaced.
2. Select Maintenance Box > How To... and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Warning: If ink gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes,
flush them immediately with water. If ink gets into your mouth, spit it out and see a doctor right away.

Replacing the Borderless Maintenance Box
The borderless maintenance box (maintenance box 2) absorbs ink during borderless printing. When you
see a message on the LCD screen, replace the borderless maintenance box.
Note:
• Do not replace the borderless maintenance box while printing. Printing stops if the lock on the
borderless maintenance box is released, which may result in color variation and a decline in print
quality once printing is resumed.
• Do not reuse a borderless maintenance box you have removed from the printer and exposed to air for
a long period of time. The box will not absorb any more ink.
• To view the replacement procedure on the LCD screen before the message appears, select
maintenance > Replace Maintenance Box > Borderless Maintenance Box > How To....
